Mrs. Childs informed children and parents in June that Ms Smith and Miss Randle are leaving at the end of this academic year. Following a recruitment process, I am pleased to announce that Miss Liz Host has been appointed as the Owls class teacher from September 2017. Miss Host impressed Mrs. Birch, Mrs. Childs, Mrs. Locke (parent governor) and I last Friday, where candidates each taught an hour-long lesson in Owls class and then had a formal interview.
Miss Host has taught in Warwickshire, the West Midlands and in the United States. After spending the last few years in America, she is returning to Kineton, where she was brought up. Miss Host has been into school today and will be in school on 13th July to spend the morning with the new Owls class.
For the 2017-18 academic year, Miss England will continue her role in our Nursery. Squirrels class will contain Reception and Year 1 children with Mrs. Salmon as class teacher and Mrs. Hayes as teaching assistant. Owls will be taught by Miss Host and will be a mixed Year 2 and Year 3 class, with Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 children in Badgers class with Mrs. Birch and Mrs. Childs.
