School Direct is a new opportunity for schools to influence the way in which initial teacher training (ITT) is delivered and ensure the best potential teachers are recruited to the profession. It gives the best schools much greater control and influence over teacher training and allows schools to recruit and train trainees to best meet their needs locally.

Our school is part of a growing number of schools that is leading the way in school-led teacher training. This is really important to us because it means we can select the most talented people and develop them into teachers. Being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the best outcomes for the children across the Stour Federation Partnership.

We would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is. We’re looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, GCSE A-C in Maths, English and Science and, most importantly, have a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.
