The current guidance for outdoor public playgrounds such as the one next to the school site is:

Outdoor playgrounds are also able to reopen but the people responsible for them – for example, the local authority – should ensure they comply with COVID-19 Secure guidelines to help avoid risks of transmission. Anyone using playgrounds should take particular care to wash their hands after use and avoid touching their face. Children should be supervised carefully to maintain good hygiene and should not use playgrounds if they have any signs or symptoms of coronavirus.

Please find attached the COVID-19 notice for the play area on the village playing fields, along with the poster outlining the rules.

The Prime Minister has announced new stricter measures, which could be in place for the foreseeable future.  These new restrictions will be set out in law and the police and other enforcement officers will be able to issue penalties for those that don’t comply.  Out of school from Monday 14th September:

* There is a legal limit on the number of people you don’t live with you are able to meet indoors. When meeting with people you don’t live with you can socialise in groups of up to 6.

* When meeting outdoors with people you don’t live with you can socialise in groups of up to 6. You should continue to maintain social distancing with anyone you do not live with.  Therefore, children shouldn’t be mixing on the play area with lots of other children: parents and children have to stick to groups of 6.

* You may only stay overnight in someone else’s home if you do not form a group of more than 6 people.

* Children count in the groups of 6 people, e.g. if a family of five wants to visit two grandparents at the same time, doing so would be illegal as this would mean seven people were gathering.

* Anyone using outdoor playgrounds should take particular care to wash their hands after use and avoid touching their face.

* Children should be supervised carefully to maintain good hygiene and should not use playgrounds if they have any signs or symptoms of coronavirus.
