Our School Prayer: A Blueprint for Living, Being, Actions and Relationships
Brailes School Prayer serves as a lived practical blueprint for living, being, actions, and relationships. Each line is directly linked to our core values, mission and school vision, which shapes how we wonder about the world, understand ourselves, act toward others, and grow together as a community.
Our spirituality policy defines spiritual development through four distinct relational directions: Self, Others, Beaty (our world) and beyond, explored through Windows, Mirrors, Doors.
Each line of the school prayer provides an intentional blueprint across four core dimensions.
Prayer Line:
"God be in my head, as I wonder, ask and grow."
Core Value Mission: Curiosity
Mission: Aspire
Spiritual Focus: Nurturing our relationship with the world around them. This dimension opens our eyes to awe and wonder ("WOWs"), everyday challenges ("OWs"), and ordinary moments ("NOWs"). It encourages bold questioning ("why?" and "how?") and resourcefulness, providing rich soil for all to grow like a healthy plant toward the light.
Prayer Lines :
"God be in my eyes, putting others first as I go"
"God be in my heart, showing compassion in all I do."
Core Value : Compassion
Mission: Belong & Believe
Spiritual Focus: Nurturing the relationship with self and identity. Rooted in the belief that everyone is created in the image of God (Imago Dei), this stage fosters inner reflection, self-worth, and safety. Through "unreasonable hospitality", we ensure every child and adult feels a deep sense of belonging, fuelling daily compassionate service so no one's light is hidden under a basket.
Prayer Lines:
"God be in my mouth, with words kind, brave and true"
"God be at my end, to try new things, look outward and achieve."
Core Value: Courage and Compassion
Mission: Belong, Believe & Aspire
Spiritual Focus: Nurturing moral agency and outward behaviour. This dimension translates inner reflection into positive physical service and courageous advocacy. Speaking words that are kind, brave, and true requires courage. We prioritise restorative practices (forgiveness and repair), encourage stepping outside comfort zones, and empower everyone to act as courageous advocates for justice.
Prayer Line: "To grow together, shine bright, and believe."
Core Values : Courage, Compassion and Curiosity
Mission: Believe and Aspire
Spiritual Focus: Nurturing a relationship with God and the collective whole. We do not journey alone; we grow together. Underpinned by Matthew 5:14-16, individual lights join together to form a visible "City on a Hill"—a hopeful beacon that illuminates our school and wider community through shared service, collaboration and celebration.
