Every parent and member of staff at Brailes C of E Primary School and Nursery is a member of FOBS (Friends of Brailes School). FOBS welcomes all members of our community to join in support of our school and its staff, families and pupils. Our primary purpose is to fundraise to enhance the facilities, resources and educational experience of all our school children.

Throughout the year we organise activities for staff, families and the local community; many of which are highlights in the village calendar such as our annual bonfire and firework display, Christmas Fair, the Three Hills Walk as well as social activities such as cake sales, picnics, coffee mornings, family fun nights, quiz nights, and recently a family ferret racing night.

In recent years we have given money to enhance the school curriculum and environment and its resources such as purchasing staging which is invaluable for performances, sharing assemblies each term, collective worship and community events. FOBS has also provided money for an adventure playground to encourage increased physical activity and make the playground more exciting during break and lunchtime. Other purchases included purchasing musical instruments, chrome books, iPads, books and other materials to support teachers and aid learning with different topics.

We subsidise educational outings and workshops to provide experiences that some children would be unable to access such as visiting the theatre to support the English and Drama curriculum and inspire creative writing and performances.

We have a committee which meets regularly throughout the year to plan and organise exciting events to raise money to support our great school. Anyone can get involved, by joining the committee, helping to run the events or just coming along to support. Do feel free to come along to a FOBS Meeting, they are informal and sociable. A good way to get to know other parents!
